The hike to the top of Signal Peak doesn’t take long, but it’s quite steep with fairly crumbly ground in places, so I’d advise against trying it in sandals. (Though I did spot a few people giving it a good go.) There’s also a small beach on the island which is a great place for snorkelling. Island of St. Lucia
This tour includes your pick up from the port as well as a hike with a guide and a ride on an aerial tram if the adrenaline gets too much. Outside the entrance to Pigeon Island is Causeway Beach, a small beach with stunning clear water and beautiful views of the old fort and across the bay. Further up the coast is Pigeon Island, which isn’t exactly an island now that it’s connected to the mainland with a man-made road, but is a lovely place nevertheless! Either hop into a taxi to get here, or take the 1A bus as far as Gros Islet and then walk along the beach to the park’s entrance.

Tucked in Pitons Bay, between Petit Piton and Gros Piton, the beach offers powdery, white sands, and a great snorkeling experience (it is part of St Lucia Snorkel Marine Reserve). You can visit the place by boat (most of the snorkeling tours stop here), by car/on a land tour. There is also a nice beach restaurant where you can delight in the local St Lucian specialties while taking in the views of the Pitons.

Castries (St Lucia Island)
Optional helicopter service between both airports is also available. Vigie Airport is just 2 km (1 mi) north of Castries Town and has annual passenger traffic ~400,000. The airport serves Air Antilles, Air Caraibes, Air Sunshine, Caribbean Airlines, InterCaribbean Airways, and LIAT (Leeward Islands Air Transport). Take a tour of St Lucia either by boat or by road, or by both ways. For a cruise tourist, a boat tour is better because of the limited time at the port. This small, charming, and serene harbor, which was featured in the Dr. Dolittle movie of 1967, is just the slice of island magic that one needs. The hidden nature of the bay serves to draw in tourists looking for a private island escape. This beautiful and picturesque bay with a deep natural harbor is also known as the Hurricane Hole on account of it being protected from strong winds by the surrounding forested hill peninsulas. St. Lucia is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful islands in the Caribbean.
Note that the restaurant is closed on Saturday, but they’re known for their fixed rate Sunday brunch. Dishes have a Caribbean and Creole influence, from salted codfish to shrimp and coconut sauce, curried lamb or simple sauteed vegetables. Nestled right between the two Pitons outside of Soufriere is Sugar Beach, which is a luxurious Viceroy resort area, but also boasts some of the best views of any of the beaches on the island. Lounging is freely available to the public; you don’t have to be staying at the resort to enjoy the imported sandy beach. After exploring a bit, have lunch or dinner at the resort’s restaurant.
